THE IDEA
Our production methodology
-
Step One - Requirement definition & documentation
This is the cornerstone of all Schematic projects and covers everything from research and analysis to strategic positioning, deliverables, costs and contracts. Agreeing in writing what you need, what you'll get from us, and when by, is central to our approach. This way, if things change, we all know where we started.
-
Step two - Pre-production
Once we know what we're going to do, the next step is to plan it meticulously. This means scheduling and collecting all the things we need to start work. Depending on the project, it's also time to think about information architecture, make technical decisions and introduce the team.
-
Step three - Production
All productions, regardless of type, are run according to some strict rules: we always do things in phrases with clear milestones; there is always a single point of contact that knows everthing; and we always expect the unexpected. From design treatments to change control, no stone is left unturned, and everything is delivered on time.
-
Step four - Testing
This means everything from large scale technical QA with testing partners, to checking the spelling in a banner advert. but testing doesn't only happen at the end of a project: our teams keep a constant eye on quality and effectiveness. Whether a site has to be accessible to W3C Standards, or a campaign idea needs researching we watch the details from start to finish.
-
Step five - Full launch
This is the best bit. After all the preparation, our work can get to work: talking to customers, entertaining people and getting things done.
-
Step six - Follow up
Work doesn't stop after launch. In fact, this is where some of the most important thinking gets done. When the dust settles, we sit down with you and work out what we've learnt. We can also provide everything from design and tone guideliness to application manuals and training. So you know as much as we do about the project.
